I also atttached you two samples of typical certificate of conformance we supply to our customer when they receive our fiber. If people wants to know the OH content at the water peak absorption 1385 nm, keep in mind that 1 ppm = 62.7 dB/km. There you just have to apply a rule of thumb. However, do notmake the mistake to convert attenuation into OH into ppm at different wavelengths. 1385 nm is the only wavelength where you can take an OH measurement then do reliable comparative. I let you analyse the datasheets and look forward to your questions. Something I couldn't find is a (typical) transmittance (or attenuation) graph, i.e. Transmittance in a certain configuration as function of the wavelength. Do you have such data to share with me? Sorry for the delay. However, it's time to move forward. Here are some complementary details about us. It follows-up your questions. 1) Regarding brochures and other promotionnal items, we are at the early stage to refresh it. We are still hesitant between brochures and CD-ROMs for our next update. We will take a decision sometimes next week. Generally, we work a lot with PDF files for the raw fibers that people can download from our website. It saves costs and time for both parties. By the way, I invite you to visit our updated website. As for the assemblies, the best marketing tool is pictures. The potential customer wants to see how tight the fibers are packaging into the connectors. Packaging quality is a major purcahse criteria. I attach some pictures of our current assemblies. Regarding FiberTech GmbH, they produce the raw fiber as well as the assemblies for medical applications. So, sometimes shipments could come from Germany. However, I would remain your primary contact in any case unless I advise otherwise. The FiberTech GmbH's cooperation with their Israeli distributor is dead. Next week I will be in Munich for a teade show and meet my German partner. We will discuss more about it. 2) Regarding the quote for the borosilicate bundle, yesy you can expect lower pricing if the specs are slightly different. However, as you realized, borosilicate material is not our core product. You are right to say that we specialize in specialty multimode silica step-index and graded-index fibers for online monitoring and laser delivery system applications. In fact, silica fibers is 95% of our revenues while brorosilicate is only 5%. To be honest with you, I can't beat Fostec and Schott on large quantities borosilicate bundles. Very small quantity, I can. Basically, if I look at the list of companies you are representing, there is a niche for us. By the way, how do you do to be able to efficiently represent so many companies if you are the only one to do that job. How can you please all of your clients? Do you sleep sometimes:-)) We have a clear competitive edge with our silica fiber for VIS/NIR rspectral range especially in online monitoring. We guarantte less than 15.75 dB/km at the peak absorption 1385 nm compared to the industry's average of 30-35 dB/km. Rgearding few OEM companies you suggested me: Applied Materials is a very good potential customer. I had some contacts with them but only with their US division. I'll try to get you a contact name for Israel from their US division. Lumenis is also a good potential for medical fibers. Nova is also another potential. Orbotech is questionable, but they have an inspection system that may need fibers. kla-tencor.com is another potential customer. few years ago, I had some discussions with their US division. Finally, I don't know well Israel marketplace, but I think you are optimistic to estimate the Israeli specialty fiber marketplace at 2000K$/year. I guess you have included the telecommunication industry where we are not involved unless it is the medical market which has such big potential. If so, great!!! I will come up with the agreement within a day or two. Kind regards from Montreal (Sunny and 6 C) Jeff Dupuis Sales & Marketing Manager FiberTech Optica Inc.
